Diving: Tom Daley wins gold in Florida event
Tom Daley has claimed his first title of 2009 in the men's 10 metre platform at the FINA Grand Prix in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Daley, who is still just 14 years old, saw off Olympic silver medallist Luxin Zhou and last year's World Cup champion Sascha Klein in the final to take gold.
Daley's winning total of 554.90 was based on his penultimate dive, a backwards three-and-a-half somersault tucked which prompted across-the-board 10s from the judges.
The Great Britain squad now have three silvers and Daley's gold to their name.

Diving: Tom Daley and Max Brick take silver in US
Great Britain diving pair Tom Daley and Max Brick won silver in the 10m synchronised event in Fort Lauderdale.
The duo were leading the competition after four dives but were finally overhauled by Americans David Boudia and Thomas Finchum.
But they finished comfortably ahead of Canadian pair Reuben Ross and Riley McCormick with a score of 423.48.
Daley, 14, teamed up with Brick in April after splitting from Beijing Olympics partner Blake
Aldridge.
After scoring well through the rounds, an untidy fifth dive, a back two-and-a-half somersault one and a half twist pike, allowed their American rivals to steal a lead they never surrendered.
But the Britons will be pleased with a score that was a 20-point improvement on their debut performance at the Fina World Series in Sheffield.
Daley and Aldridge scored 408.48 in finishing eighth in the Olympic final.
Well they did better than they did in Sheffield but silver medal is great :P

gymnastics: Shawn Johnson interview
usagymnastics interviewed shawn johnson about beijing, life outside of gym and future plans that kinda stuff :P
What was your favourite memory from Beijing?
Probably the team and all-around competition because they were the moments that I had been working for. For team, it was when we really became one and tried to help each other. It was a great feeling. And the all-around, that’s kind of like my event, the one that I’ve worked for my whole life. I waited for that one moment for so long.
What were some of the things you were able to do in China after competition finished?
We went to the Silk Market and the Great Wall. We went to this authentic Chinese restaurant, where we had real Chinese food. I had Peking duck and a bunch of other stuff that I had no idea what I was eating. It all tasted pretty good. I also went to the gold-medal men’s basketball game, the 4X400 relay and the Closing Ceremony.
What has been your favorite thing you have done since the Olympic Games?
Besides “Dancing with the Stars,” the Democratic (National) Convention. That was one of the coolest things I’ve ever done. It was something that was totally different. It wasn’t a talk show, and it didn’t really relate to gymnastics. It was something that it was just an honor to be there, for them to even consider me and to pick me to lead the pledge. It was amazing, a part of history.
How was your trip to Colorado during Christmas?
Amazing. I got to go skiing for the first time. I had the time of my life. I loved it and I can’t wait to go back.
How well did you ski?
I went down black moguls within three days! I think I caught on pretty fast.
What are your future gymnastics plans?
I don’t really know yet. Right now, I’m focusing on dancing, of course, to do the best that I can, but after that I’ll get back into training and see how that goes. It’s a hard decision. It’s not really one that I can make when I’m not even in the gym. Once I get back into the gym, it’ll be a lot easier.
What do you like most about gymnastics?
It’s my love, my passion. It’s what I fell in love with when I was three and I’ve been a part of it ever since. I love how it makes me feel. It’s just something that I can do for fun. It’s never anything that I take too seriously.
What is your favorite childhood gymnastics memory?
Qualifying to elite was probably my best moment. That first time that I really felt I had really accomplished something and had gone somewhere.
Have you thought much and what you might want to do after gymnastics and high school?
Stanford has been my number one college ever since I was little, and I’ve always wanted to go there. I’d love to coach and do camps. But I don’t know about a career yet, or where I want to go or what I want to do. There are too many options to start narrowing them down.
What are your plans for school after you finish “Dancing with the Stars”?
It depends on how far I get and how many credits I have. I just need to finish off this year and then hopefully go back for senior year. It will depend on what I’m doing.
lovely personallity sounds like she has her life all planned out already:P
